As we begin to touch the fray of the known
There appears in the folded corners of the human experience
Possibility
For something deeper, possibly darker, possibly more refined and nourishing than we ever thought imaginable
The parts of us that have been deemed too unskillful, frightening, or pleasure seeking
The parts that have been hiding in the silent shadows of our bodies for far too long
This space is a safe (brave) space for expressive exploration of the human experience, the body, the mind, the heart and the sex
A brave space of integration for what has been unseen, unacknowledged, left behind, or lost
A place to gain access to the lost life energy that we have pushed aside or been strangers to for most of our lives
We awaken the innocent child
We give space to the curious adolescent
We witness the young self expressive creative
We allow longing for the sensual young adult in desire of connection and intimacy
We allow the ancient intuit
We cultivate the confidence of the sacred one who knows his/her place in the world
We learn to take up space with skill
We learn to give and receive in harmony with life
We allow the wisdom of what we already know that we are to surface, breathe and integrate
Into a fuller, more pleasurable being with less suffering
And the pain that remains behind
We learn to dance with it
For it is not our pain that we deflect from
It is our unease in working with it and the emotions that it brings up
Within these spaces we learn to become graceful shadow dancers
Learning to move with ease in the totality of what we are
